Furnace repair
Heating and Furnace Repair in Lilburn
No flame. Flame that quits. Chilly air from the vents. We follow the furnace's own startup steps until the failed one shows up, then fix it.
Following the Furnace's Own Checklist
Georgia winters are mostly mild, then a hard freeze rolls through and every furnace that has been coasting gets tested at once. That is when a lot of them fail. A gas furnace runs through the same checklist every time the thermostat calls: the inducer fan starts and clears the flue, a pressure switch confirms the draft, the hot surface igniter heats up, the gas valve opens, the burners light and the flame sensor confirms the fire. Then the blower kicks on. If any step does not check out, the control board shuts it all down, tries again and eventually locks out. Electric furnaces have their own chain: heating elements, sequencers, limits and the blower. Either way, the failure is somewhere specific, and the fastest path to heat is finding exactly where. Before calling, confirm the thermostat reads heat with a setpoint warmer than the room, the furnace power switch is on, the filter is not clogged and the breaker has not tripped. And if you smell gas, skip all of that: do not touch any switch, herd the household onto the lawn and let the gas utility or 911 take it from there. When the gas utility clears it, we come fix the furnace.
Furnace Problems We Fix
Where most no-heat calls end up, gas and electric alike.
Igniter trouble
Cracked or worn hot surface igniters that glow weakly or not at all.
Flame drops out
Fouled flame sensors that cannot prove the flame, so the gas shuts off after a few seconds.
Cold air from the registers
Burners not lighting, a fan left on at the thermostat or a limit switch tripping on overheating.
Inducer and draft
Failing inducer motors and pressure switches that will not close, stopping startup cold.
Short runs
Heat that starts and stops quickly, often a filter, a limit or a control board issue.
Blower failures
Motors, capacitors and caked blower wheels that leave the heat stuck inside the cabinet.
Electric furnaces
Burned elements, stuck sequencers and tired limits replaced and tested.
